What we do not do matters as much as what we do. This is a Google practice: SEO, Google Ads, and the website design that supports them. No social media management, no Meta ads, no content production. If a shortlist needs one supplier for everything, we are not it, and that is worth knowing before a call rather than after one.
The 8 sections below, in the order the decision usually gets made.
Why most Adelaide businesses waste money on SEO.
The 3 patterns we see every week when new clients come to us.
You're paying an agency that outsources your work
You're paying Adelaide prices for offshore-quality SEO. Your account manager can't explain what they're actually doing because they don't do the work themselves. The reports look impressive until you realise nothing is actually moving. Your rankings are flat. Your traffic is stagnant. And every month, the invoice shows up right on time.
Your website gets traffic but no leads
Rankings don't pay bills. If your SEO isn't driving phone calls and form submissions, it's vanity metrics. We see Adelaide businesses ranking for keywords that nobody searching actually wants to buy from. Traffic without intent is just a number on a dashboard. It doesn't convert and it never will.
You're locked into a 12-month contract
You're stuck paying even when results don't show. No accountability, no urgency to perform. The agency already has your money locked in, so where's the incentive to push harder? We see it all the time - Adelaide businesses trapped in contracts with agencies that stopped trying 3 months in.
A Buyer's Checklist, Not A Ranking
How to choose an SEO company in Adelaide.
Most “best Adelaide SEO agency” lists are ordered by who paid the directory, so they cannot tell you much. These are the 8 questions we would ask if we were the ones buying, each with our own answer attached, including the places where the answer is not in our favour.
Useful context before you start: a major agency directory publishes a median hourly rate of about $25/hr for Adelaide SEO, and most listed firms sit below it. That is offshore pricing wearing a local badge, and it is the benchmark those comparison pages quietly measure everyone against.
A real Adelaide address you can visit
Put the address into Google Maps and look at it. A virtual office or a mail drop usually means the account is run from interstate or offshore, and that no one will ever sit across the table from you.
How we answer it: Ours is 21-22 Greenhill Rd, Wayville SA 5034, and it has been Adelaide based for 8 years. Where we fall short: it is a working office, not a showroom with a receptionist, so arrange a time rather than dropping in.
Named clients, with an owner and a number
Ask for a client you can look up and ring. Anonymous case studies about “a client in your industry” cost nothing to write and cannot be checked by you or by anyone else.
How we answer it: Adam Nettleton at Adam Plumbing & Gas went from 13 to 41 new Google clients a month, hitting 41 in month 4 after 5 agencies over 10 years. Ali at Fine Automotive Detailing moved from 9 to 1 in Google Maps for “car detailing Adelaide” in about 2 months. More on the results page. Where we fall short: some clients ask not to be named, so the public list is shorter than the client list.
A price published before the call
See whether a number exists anywhere on the site. When the price only appears after a discovery call, the price is being set by what you look like you can afford rather than by the work involved.
How we answer it: SEO here starts at $1,500+GST/month, across 3 tiers: $1,500, $2,500 and $4,000+GST per month. The full breakdown sits on the SEO cost guide. Where we fall short: under $1,500+GST/month we are not the right fit, and we would rather tell you that here than on a call.
Who does the work after you sign
Ask for the name of the person who will do the work, in writing, and ask whether that name changes after onboarding. Pitching and delivery are often 2 completely different groups of people.
How we answer it: Chris Lourenco, Director, runs the audit, sets the strategy and stays on the account. There is no handover step, because there is nobody to hand it to. Read the background. Where we fall short: 1 calendar has a hard ceiling, so we take on fewer accounts and there is sometimes a wait.
Reviews where your customers actually look
Count the Google reviews, not the testimonials on the agency's own website. A site testimonial is marketing copy. A Google review is a named person you could contact yourself.
How we answer it: The Adelaide profile holds 103 Google reviews at a 5.0 rating, and more than 130 sit across our profiles Australia-wide. Where we fall short: we deliberately do not reprint review quotes on this page, because a quote we choose and format is worth less than the ones you read at the source.
An account that is still climbing
Ask to see a current client who is not there yet. Any agency can produce its best month. Willingness to show a live account mid-climb tells you what their reporting looks like when the numbers are not flattering.
How we answer it: Trusted Mechanical (Travis Dunn, Lonsdale SA) went live on 25 June 2026. Organic clicks have gone from about 5 a day before the rebuild to about 13 a day, and the site now appears for about 2,400 distinct search terms. Average position is still about 32. It does not rank well yet, it is early, and we publish it anyway.
The exit terms, in writing
Before you sign, get the notice period and the ownership of the website, the content and the Google Business Profile in writing. Some engagements are built so that leaving costs you the asset you paid to build.
How we answer it: Month to month, no lock-in contract, and you own the site, the content and the Google Business Profile at every point, including the day you leave. That is set out on the no-contract SEO page. Where we fall short: month to month cuts both ways, and we end engagements that are not working too.
Whether they take your competitor too
Ask outright, then ask for it in writing. Having 2 clients in the same trade and the same catchment means both are being pushed at the same 3 map slots, and only 1 of them can win.
How we answer it: We do not take a direct competitor in your trade and your service area while we work with you, and it is written into the engagement rather than promised on a call. Where we fall short: it means we turn work away, and if your competitor asked first, the business we turn away is yours.
The honest disqualifier
If you need leads inside the next 30 days, or you cannot carry 6 months of investment before the compounding starts, SEO is the wrong first purchase and no agency in Adelaide can change that. Start with Google Ads, buy the clicks while the organic work is still out of reach, and come back to this page when the cash flow can wait.
The SEO vs Google Ads comparison sets out which channel suits which situation, and you will get the same answer on a strategy call.
Choosing a model, not a brand
SEO agency, SEO consultant or freelancer: which one fits you
Adelaide SEO consultants, agencies and freelancers all sell the same outcome and deliver it 4 different ways. The first row is not sold at all, it is hired. Cost is the easiest column to compare and the least useful, so read the last 2 first.
| Model | Typical monthly cost | Who does the work | Local market knowledge | Time to first result | When they are busy | Exit terms |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| In-house hire | A full-time salary, plus on-costs and tools | Your employee, 40 hours a week, only you | Whatever they arrive with, then it compounds | Slowest start: recruit, notice period, ramp-up | Never busy elsewhere. Capped by 1 person's range | Notice, entitlements, and a vacancy to refill |
| Freelancer | Lowest local option, hourly or small retainer | The freelancer, personally. That is the appeal | Often strong, if genuinely Adelaide-based. Check | Fast on a narrow, well-defined brief | You wait. There is no bench | Usually informal and easy to stop |
| Offshore provider | The cheapest number on any quote you gather | A production floor you will never meet | Templated. Adelaide is a field in a spreadsheet | Deliverables arrive fast. Enquiries often do not | Your work goes to whoever is on shift | Commonly a fixed term. Read the notice clause |
| Interstate agency | A national rate card, mid to high | A pod. Rarely the person who sold it | Adelaide handled as a smaller Melbourne | Steady and process-led, slowed by handovers | Bigger accounts get the senior hours first | A term with notice. Get it in writing |
| Local Adelaide specialistThis is us | $1,500+GST/month, 3 tiers to $4,000+GST | Chris Lourenco, Director, audit through to reporting | 8 years here, an office in Wayville | Technical fixes early, rankings over months, no promised date | 1 director is finite. You get a start date | Month to month, no lock-in |
On that third row: a major agency directory publishes a median hourly rate of about $25/hr for Adelaide SEO, with most listed firms below it. Nobody working in Adelaide is paid that. It is offshore pricing presented as a local benchmark.
When you should hire, not retain
If the work genuinely needs 40 hours a month of execution, an employee costs less per hour than any retainer, ours included. Row 1 is then the right answer and we will tell you so rather than sell around it.
When you should not buy SEO from anyone
At $500 a month you are buying a few hours, and a few hours will not move a competitive Adelaide result. Run your own Google Business Profile and chase reviews until the budget carries $1,500+GST/month.
The full numbers sit in our Adelaide SEO pricing guide, and the reasoning behind month to month with no lock-in is set out separately. If paid search is the faster fit for your budget, compare the 2 channels in SEO vs Google Ads.
The Monthly Scope
What our SEO services in Adelaide include, month by month
Every engagement runs on the same 5 workstreams. What changes between a $1,500+GST month and a $4,000+GST month is depth and volume, not which of these you get.
Technical foundations
We start with the crawl: indexation, redirects, canonical tags, page speed and Core Web Vitals, mobile rendering, schema, sitemap and robots hygiene, and the internal links that decide which of your pages Google treats as important. Every issue is logged with a severity and a fix, and you are told plainly which ones we handled and which need your developer. If a rebuild or a platform move is on the table, we run it against our migration checklist first, because a site that loses its rankings during launch week can spend months earning them back.
On-page and content
Keyword research is mapped to intent before a word is written, so effort goes to terms with buying behaviour behind them rather than terms with large volume and no customer at the end. From there: title tags and meta descriptions, heading structure, page briefs, new service pages written and published, and existing pages rewritten where they sit close to ranking but read thin. You see drafts before they go live, with the target query and the reason it was chosen written at the top. Nothing gets published on your domain without you reading it first.
Local SEO and the map pack
When someone in Adelaide searches for what you do on a phone, the map pack answers before the blue links do. So: Google Business Profile categories, services, service area, photos, posts and Q&A, a review request process that fits how you already speak to customers, and consistent name, address and phone data across the directories Google reads. Fine Automotive Detailing moved from 9 to 1 on Google Maps for “car detailing Adelaide” in about 2 months on this work. The method sits on our local SEO page, and every check behind it is published in our local SEO checklist.
AI Overviews and AI search visibility
AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity answer a share of the searches that used to land on your website. The honest position: there is no separate AI markup, no special tag and no schema type that makes a model cite you. What earns a citation is being the clearest, best sourced answer on a page a crawler can read. That is ordinary SEO done properly. We track where you appear in those answers and report it as a line in your existing work, never as a separate product with its own invoice. Our AI search page sets out what can and cannot be influenced.
Reporting, and what lands in your inbox
Each month a report lands in your inbox: what was done, what moved in Search Console (clicks, impressions, average position, the queries gained and lost), the calls and form submissions those visits produced, and what is queued next. Rankings sit below enquiries in that order on purpose. We report the awkward months too. Trusted Mechanical in Lonsdale is up from about 5 organic clicks a day before its June rebuild to about 13 now, and shows for roughly 2,400 search terms, but average position is still about 32 and we say so out loud. Full pricing detail sits on our SEO cost page.
The First 6 Months
What happens in month 1, month 3 and month 6.
Nobody can tell you the date you will rank. Anyone who does is guessing, because they do not control Google's index, what your competitors spend, or how many years of neglect your domain is carrying. What we can tell you is what gets built, when it gets built, and what you will be looking at on the report at the end of each stage.
Month 1
Foundations, not rankings.
- Technical audit, then the fixes actioned rather than handed to you as a list
- Google Business Profile rebuilt around your services and suburbs
- Keyword map matching each service to what Adelaide actually types
- Money pages rewritten, and tracking set up so month 3 has a baseline to beat
At the end: a starting line. Impressions tend to move before positions do, and positions before enquiries.
Month 3
The first honest movement.
- Service and location content published on a set cadence
- Local citations and syndications built out
- A review flow feeding the Google profile
- Internal linking tightened as the page count grows
At the end: Trusted Mechanical is the live example. Their rebuild went live 25 June 2026, organic clicks have gone from about 5 a day to about 13 a day, and the site now appears for about 2,400 distinct search terms. Average position is still about 32. Real progress and an unfinished job at the same time.
Months 4 to 6
Enquiries, if it is going to work.
- Keyword coverage pushed out into the terms that convert
- Map pack position worked suburb by suburb
- Conversion fixes on the pages already pulling traffic
- A review of what to keep funding and what to drop
At the end: Adam Plumbing & Gas went from 13 to 41 new Google clients a month, hitting 41 in month 4, after 5 agencies over 10 years had not got there. That is the strong end of the range, not a promise.
What lands in your inbox, and how often.
The report arrives once a month, every month, written by Chris Lourenco rather than exported from a dashboard with a logo dropped on it. It carries the same 6 numbers each time so you can watch them move: clicks, impressions, the count of distinct search terms you appear for, average position, map pack position on your core terms, and enquiries. Underneath sits what was done that month and what is queued next.
If a number went backwards it stays in the report. You are on month to month terms with no lock-in, so that report is also the thing that has to justify the next invoice. The numbers behind those monthly costs are published in full, and the named clients above are on our results page.
Named Clients, Verifiable Results
Adelaide SEO results with real names attached.
Not anonymous “a client” line graphs. These are Adelaide businesses you can look up, with video testimonials on our results page. Where a number came from Google Ads rather than organic search, we label it as Google Ads on this same page, in the same size type, because presenting paid results as SEO proof is the exact thing this page argues against.
SEO - Plumbing & Gas, Adelaide
Adam Plumbing & Gas: 13 to 41 new Google clients a month.
Adam Nettleton had tried 5 agencies over 10 years, all chasing the same 30-a-month goal, and none of them got there. We took him from 13 to 41 new Google clients a month, hitting 41 in month 4. Nothing about his trade changed. The difference was which searches his business turned up in.

SEO - Automotive, Adelaide
Fine Automotive Detailing: Maps rank 9 to 1 in about 2 months.
Ali started with us while he was renting in Broadview. His Google Maps rank for “car detailing Adelaide” went from 9 to 1 in about 2 months. He has since moved the business to Mile End. Maps is where an Adelaide detailer actually gets chosen, so that is the ranking we went after first rather than a page 1 blue link.

SEO - Live Right Now, Diesel Workshop, Lonsdale
Trusted Mechanical: a full SEO rebuild, live 25 June 2026, and not finished yet.
Travis Dunn's diesel and mechanical workshop in Lonsdale came to us for an entirely new, SEO-built site to replace the old one. It went live on 25 June 2026. Since then organic clicks have gone from about 5 a day to about 13 a day, and the site now appears for about 2,400 distinct search terms. Average position is still about 32.
13
organic clicks a day, from about 5
2,400
distinct search terms it appears for
32
average position, still climbing
That last number is the one most agencies would quietly leave out. We are publishing it because position 32 is exactly where a rebuilt site sits 8 weeks in: indexed broadly, ranking shallowly, with the climb still ahead of it. We will not tell you Trusted Mechanical ranks well, because it does not yet. What it has is roughly 2,400 doors open where there were almost none, and that has to happen before positions move at all. The build ran against the same migration checklist we publish free, and Travis deals with Chris directly, the same as every other Adelaide client on this page. We will keep reporting the position as it moves, in both directions.
Google Ads, Not SEO
These 2 numbers came from Google Ads. They are not SEO results.
Both numbers below came from paid search, not from organic rankings. They are here because prospects ask what the same account looks like when we run the paid side, and because an SEO page that quietly borrows Google Ads figures is exactly the trick we are asking you to watch for.

Chris built our new website and has been looking after our SEO and Google presence. Really happy with how everything has come together and the progress we’ve made. Easy to deal with, knowledgeable and always helpful. Would definitely recommend Chris and the team at Loudachris.

Chris has been great to work with, guiding us through the world of website/SEO optimisation, and getting the job done in quick time. He found a way to transfer our previous Squarespace website over to Wordpress for better SEO optimisation and functionality. He has been a great supporter of our charity Fruit Share Adelaide and we can't thank him enough.

Pricing
Adelaide SEO pricing, out in the open.
If you are comparing agencies right now, you are scanning for a number. Most pages on this search result make you book a call before you get one. Here are all 3 tiers, month to month with no lock-in contract, so you can rule us in or out before you speak to anyone.
Where you land in the range depends on how competitive your category is, not on what we think you can pay.
| Tier | Monthly | Who it suits | What is included | What is not |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Single-location local | $1,500+GST | Adelaide trades and service businesses competing across a single part of the city. | Google Business Profile work, review velocity, map pack focus, on-page and technical fixes, reporting you can actually read. | A full monthly content program or ongoing link acquisition. Those sit in the tier above. |
| Metro-wide competitive | $2,500+GST | Whole-of-Adelaide targeting in a contested category. | Everything above, plus a monthly content program, deeper technical work and earned links. | Google Ads management, which is priced separately from $800+GST/month. |
| High-competition or multi-city | $4,000+GST | Legal, medical and finance, or Adelaide businesses expanding interstate. | Aggressive content and authority building across every location you want found in. | A guarantee. Nobody can honestly sell you a ranking by a date, at any price. |
One-off work, priced the same way
- Google Business Profile setup: $750+GST
- Local syndications: $800+GST and $1,450+GST
Worth knowing before you compare quotes: a major agency directory publishes a median hourly rate of about $25/hr for Adelaide SEO, with most of the firms it lists sitting below that. That is offshore pricing presented as a local benchmark. We are not priced against it and will not pretend to be. If your budget is genuinely under $1,500+GST a month, we are not the right fit, and it is better you read that here than hear it on a call.
The full breakdown of what moves the price is in the SEO cost guide. Still choosing between channels? SEO vs Google Ads puts the 2 side by side.
Local coverage
SEO across every Adelaide suburb.
Adelaide is not a single market. Competition, search behaviour and the lever that actually moves a ranking all change within a few kilometres. Here is how the metro splits in practice, and what each split changes about the work.
Inner east and south
Norwood, Unley, Burnside and Mitcham are the densest patch of the metro for trades and professional services alike, so clean technical and on-page work is the entry fee rather than the advantage. Reviews usually decide the order. Businesses here rarely lose on content, they lose because the operator down the road has a stronger and fresher review profile.
The north
Across Salisbury, Elizabeth, Modbury, Golden Grove and Mawson Lakes the map pack is drawn from a much wider radius, so proximity to the searcher counts for more than raw domain strength. A smaller business with a properly built Google Business Profile regularly outranks a stronger website sitting 20 minutes away. Service area, categories and location signals earn their keep here before another content page does.
Coast and south
Glenelg, Henley Beach, Marion, Port Adelaide and Lonsdale skew heavily mobile for trade searches, often typed one-handed from a driveway or a job site, so load speed and a tappable phone number do more than another 800 words. Trusted Mechanical in Lonsdale now appears for service terms like diesel tuning adelaide and dpf cleaning adelaide, not suburb terms. That build is still early, with an average position around 32, and we report it that way.
CBD, North Adelaide and Wayville
In the CBD, North Adelaide and Wayville, local businesses are ranked against national brands and directories that suburban operators never encounter. Winning is a specificity game: a real address, genuine service detail, and pages that answer something a national template cannot.
What we do not do is build a page per suburb. A templated suburb grid is scaled content under Google's own spam policies, and the exposure sits with the whole site rather than only the thin pages. We would rather ship fewer pages that each earn their place, and map your suburbs through the profile, the service pages and the local signals instead.
The mechanics behind all of it sit in our local SEO service, and every check we run is published in full in our local SEO checklist.
Agency, Consultant, Specialist
The SEO consultant who does your work
Adelaide SEO consultant, SEO company, SEO expert: the terms differ, the question does not. Who actually touches the account? Here, Chris Lourenco. He runs the audit, sets the strategy and stays on the account afterwards.
A larger firm puts more people on your account and less senior attention on it. A lone operator gives you attention, then stalls when technical, content and local work land in the same month.
Google Partner
Certification plus a maintained performance standard across managed accounts.
8 years
Adelaide-based, with 200+ campaigns and $3M+ in ad spend managed.
Wayville
A real office at 21-22 Greenhill Road, not a virtual address for an interstate operator.

103 5-star Google reviews on the Adelaide profile, from businesses you can look up.
What an SEO expert in Adelaide should be able to show you
Ask us. Ask everyone else on your shortlist the same 5.
1. An account still climbing
Adam Plumbing & Gas went from 13 to 41 new Google clients a month, hitting 41 in month 4. Ask for the current number, not the best on record.
2. A number that is actually SEO
A 31.13% conversion rate at $75.79 per enquiry is a Google Ads result, not an organic one. An expert names the channel before you ask.
3. The reporting format, before signing
Trusted Mechanical in Lonsdale runs about 13 organic clicks a day against 5 before its rebuild, across roughly 2,400 search terms. Average position is still about 32, reported as-is.
4. Who is on the call in month 6
Get a name in writing, not a role.
5. The exit terms
Ours are month to month with no lock-in, from $1,500+GST/month across 3 tiers.

And now for something completely different
The one where Chris sang about SEO to a room full of Adelaide business owners.
Every Wednesday morning Chris turns up to his BNI chapter here in Adelaide. Most weeks he explains what we do. One week he sang it instead, to the tune of a Bryan Adams song, in front of people who would see him again the following Wednesday. Nobody asked him to. You deal directly with the person running your account, so it seems fair that you get to see what that looks like before you get in touch.
Bryan Adams, please forgive me. Literally.
